Elizabeth Wagner, daughter of Anton and Maria Wagner, married Joseph Vogt. (See Wagner.) They bought the Richard Farrell farm. In 1895, Elizabeth sold a small part of the farm to the village to erect a village hall. The village hall is pictured on the Home Page of this Website. The hall also served as a meeting room for village residents, in addition to hosting the occasional dance or holiday party. The building even had a room set aside for a jail cell! In 1960, a new village hall was built in Hampton Park. The original hall was then used for Girl and Boy Scout meetings. Sadly, this piece of Romeoville history was destroyed by fire in 1965.
